Introducing DrugBank App: Look Up Medicines, Herbal Ingredients and Pharmacies

The news keeps reporting on counterfeit medicines, recalled medicines, low-quality medicines, even medicines that have been banned or never tested or approved by the Ministry of Health, still being openly sold. I asked myself: how can people with no medical background, with little knowledge about medicines like me, tell which medicines have been approved? What do they contain? Do they have a known origin? Or take my mother, who uses a lot of different medicines and isn't good at finding information on the internet.

Out of that concern, and after finding the Pharmaceutical Data Bank introduced by the Ministry of Health itself, I saw that it is a very useful and valuable resource. So I decided to build this app so that everyone can reach information about medicines more simply and conveniently, hoping to benefit not only doctors and nurses but the whole community.

DrugBank App lets you look up complete information about medicines on the market in Vietnam, from the official data source of the state regulator. It supports knowing how to use medicines safely, effectively and economically.

Data source

All the data belongs to the Pharmaceutical Data Bank (drugbank.vn), managed by the Ministry of Health (Drug Administration of Vietnam). It is a database of the pharmaceutical sector built to support quick and convenient sector management, help businesses grow, and raise people's awareness of health and their habits in using medicines.

With information on more than 10,000 medicines on the market and nearly 41,000 manufacturers, distributors and licensed pharmacists, the Pharmaceutical Data Bank gives users a comprehensive lookup platform, convenient anytime and anywhere, on the website or in the mobile app.
