Read QR codes from screenshots, photos or your camera right in your browser. Upload, drop or paste images, or scan live, then open the link or copy the content.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my image uploaded to read the QR code?
- No. The code is decoded in your browser, with the browser's built-in barcode detector when it has one and the jsQR library otherwise, so the image and its content stay on your device.
- Which images can the QR reader open?
- PNG, JPG and WebP files up to 50 MB each. You can pick several at once, drop them on the page or paste a screenshot with ⌘V / Ctrl+V.
- Why does it say no QR code was found?
- The code may be too small, blurry, cut off or have too little contrast. Crop the picture around the code or take a sharper, straight-on photo and try again. Barcodes (1D) are not read.
- Is it safe to open the link inside a QR code?
- The reader shows the full text before anything happens and only offers Open for http and https links, which open in a new tab. Check the address first: a QR code can point anywhere.
- Can I read a Wi-Fi QR code?
- Yes. A Wi-Fi code shows the network name, the security type and the password, so you can type them on a device that can't scan codes.
- Why does the QR reader ask for camera permission?
- Only when you choose the Camera tab and press Start camera. The video is read frame by frame in your browser and never recorded or sent; the camera turns off when a code is found, when you stop it, switch tabs or leave the page. If you block it, the Image tab still works.
