TimeMate is a productivity tool for macOS that implements the Pomodoro Technique directly in the menu bar. It provides a simple, unobtrusive way to manage work sessions and ensure regular breaks.
What is TimeMate?
TimeMate is a focused application for macOS that helps you structure your workday into productive sprints and necessary rest periods. By sitting in your menu bar, it stays accessible without cluttering your desktop or Dock.
The application follows the Pomodoro workflow:
- Work in sprints: Typically 25 minutes of focused effort.
- Short breaks: A 5-minute break to recharge.
- Long breaks: A longer 15-minute rest after every few cycles.
Why I Built It
As a developer, I frequently switch between complex tasks and need a way to enforce focus. I found that many timer apps were either too distracting, resource-heavy, or overly complex.
I wanted a tool that would sit quietly in the menu bar and manage my time without getting in the way. I built TimeMate to provide that balance of simplicity and functionality.
