Frequently asked questions
- Which banks does the VietQR generator support?
- The list covers the Vietnamese banks that take part in the NAPAS 247 network, 76 in total. Pick yours by name or BIN; the code works in any banking app that can scan VietQR.
- Is the amount optional?
- Yes. With an amount the code is dynamic: the payer's app fills it in. Without one the code is static and the payer types the amount themselves.
- Do I need an app or an account to create a code?
- No. You only need your bank and account number. There is no sign-up and no app to install; the code is drawn in your browser.
- Is my account number saved or sent anywhere?
- No. The code is generated in your browser, so your account number, amount and note are not sent to a server or stored. Nothing is kept after you close the page.
- Does the code expire or get verified by the bank?
- The code does not expire because it only holds your bank, account number, amount and note. It is not issued or confirmed by a bank, so check the account name shown in the payer's app before sending money.
- Can I put a note in the transfer?
- Yes, up to 25 characters. Accents are removed because banks drop them, so write the note without accents to see exactly what the payer will get.
